Removing the hype and presenting a pragmatic view of the art of the possible
Look Out is an Atos Origin initiative which aims to present a clear, independent, and authoritative source of cross-sector information and insight that will help our clients to make key decisions about their business and keep one step ahead as the world emerges from the downturn.
Since 2008, Look Out has tracked the significant economic upheaval of the last couple of years across a wide variety of sectors. Answering questions such as “What kind of changes will we see in the post-crisis world?” and “What will drive future growth?”
Look Out has a special “Focus On” section devoted to Cloud Computing. Now that it has moved into the mainstream, the Cloud offers many potential opportunities and is a key enabler for surviving today and thriving tomorrow. However, Cloud adoption is a complex process that must be carefully planned. This issue will set out how to go about doing this.
Other highlights include our overview of the latest trends and opportunities in STEP (Socio-cultural, Technological, Economic, and Political). The second-half of the book provides more in-depth expert analysis of these areas, to provide a detailed reference guide on the key vertical market sectors and what we can expect to see from them in the months – and years – ahead.
Why is Look Out Different?
Look Out is a continuous process that has been in place since 2008, developing a pan-European market view of the present and the future.
It is researched, written and produced under the guidance of Atos Consulting and includes contributions from an array of Atos Origin experts across geographies and verticals, which is validated together with professional bodies, academia, social networks, and finally with our clients.
Look Out also provides the foundation for our Innovation Workshops, with the aim of developing innovation awareness across business by:
- Simulating and provoking thinking around how organisations can leverage emerging technologies and trends: the Cloud, the iPhone, social networks, smart utilities – what’s next and what will it mean for your business?
- Developing innovation opportunities from unexpected angles, focused on key market and technology issues.
- Providing organisations with innovation strategy, innovation management, innovation boosting, and building sustainable innovation processes, governing mechanisms, and an effective innovation culture.
- Helping organisations to gain insight into the future of their industry and the impact on their firm. Seeing, sharing, and discovering trends in the market and finding out possible scenarios.
This thorough approach verifies what is real, what is not, and what an appropriate level of risk is.
